Stokes County Scouts: The Aims and Future of Scouting Activities, training and advancement are all key ingredients to the Scouting program. Each plays a part in reaching the ultimate aims of Scouting, which are to: 1) build character, 2) give citizenship training, and 3) promote fitness in all its members. All Scouting programs take form by combining these aims with the needs of the youth and the concerns of parents. As the needs of youth and concerns of youth vary with the age of the child, the Scouting program offers four distinct programs to youth: Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and Learning for Life (a partner in education). These programs directly depend on support from the Stokes County United Way.
